Day Seven of Our Diet
OK, I have to tell you that it really is getting much easier to stick to the strict diet plan (except for breakfast) and not start drooling when you open the freezer and see the leftover half gallon of chocolate chip ice cream in there! :) (And, no, I'm not going to throw it away since I still have a 21 year old in the house and HE might want to finish it!) giggle
Santos actually told me this morning that while he was at work last night, he made himself eat that apple at 10pm even though he wasn't hungry. Since I had sliced it up and sprinkled some truvia and cinnamon on it, that was a pretty powerful comment. Santos LOVES cinnamon sprinkled on anything!
I must say that we were a bit disappointed this morning when we weighed in. Santos had gained 1 pound and I had gained .6 pounds (exactly the weight we lost yesterday). However, again, because we've been able to talk to Jeff while he's gone through his own HCG diet, we know that every time you either don't lose any weight at all or gain a little bit, the next day or so it all seems to catch up, so we really aren't worried at all.
Looking forward to what tomorrow brings! Please keep checking in to see what we're up to.
Michelle
Day Six of Our Hcg Diet
Day Six of our diet wasn't bad at all.
Santos and I had a cup of lowfat yogurt for breakfast and then stuck to the diet the rest of the day. We both are starting to notice that the cravings and wanting to have things that we know we can't have are starting to recede. We've also noticed that the bowel movements are NOT happening every day anymore. However, our friend, Jeff, had already warned us about that. :)
Santos went and lost another pound and I lost .6 pounds when we weighed in this morning. Pretty good, huh?
Speaking of Jeff earlier, I want to give you an update on how he did with his own HCG diet drop plan. Since he arrived at his goal weight of 220 pounds before the 30 days, he stopped taking his drops of HCG at 23 days and just finished his 3rd day of the 500 calorie diet but no HCG drops.
Are you ready for this? His total weight loss was 30.7 pounds! Awesome, isn't it? We were so happy for him and he's floating on cloud nine! If you want to see what he's up to, he has just started a new blog that can be found at Homeopathichcg.me.
That's about it for us today, talk again tomorrow,
Michelle

Day Five of the HCG Diet Drops
Well, today WAS eventful!
I have to admit that Day Five sort of swung me into a loop. I'm lucky in that my husband works later shifts so he was home with me when things got a little dicey. That was a good thing.
First, before I tell you what happened, let me state that I am hypoglycemic and anemic. I am not on any kind of prescription medicine (although I do take OTC iron tablets a few times a week) because I control my low blood sugar with food. I've had these conditions for quite a few years now and have learned to really listen to what my body is telling me and what it needs. I've gotten pretty good at it.
Well, I've learned that I can't skip breakfast, I just can't. My blood sugar gets too low and by stealing Peter to pay Paul (whatever I eat for breakfast takes away from the rest of the day's meal), I'm not giving my sugar a chance to catch up.
On Day Five, I passed out for a few minutes early on in the morning (my husband happened to be there and caught me so I didn't get hurt) because I didn't listen to my body. I was determined to follow the HCG diet to a Tee and didn't take into consideration that I may have to "modify" it just a bit so my body stays happy with me.
After the little episode, my husband and I ate breakfast. We ate 2 scrambled eggs with a sliced tomato each. Then, the rest of the day, we followed the diet to a Tee. It worked for us, we both still lost weight when we weighed in this morning (Day Six). From Day Five to Day Six, Santos lost 1 pound and I lost .6 pounds, so even on the "modified" diet, we still lost weight.
So far, Santos has lost a total of 6.4 pounds and I've lost a total of 4.2 pounds in five days. We both agree that this is still a great accomplishment and we plan to continue the HCG diet, just with a slight modification for us.
Now, I want to make sure you all know that I'm not telling YOU to do this, however, I'm being honest in what we are doing and why. I still believe that the HCG Diet is a great way to lose weight, however, in my case, I'm not willing to take the chance of getting hurt because I want to continue with the strict diet.
I figured that being honest here might also allay some anxious feelings from those who think they may not be able to follow such a strict diet. Or those who have health conditions, like I do, that may have to modify it just a hair.
Let's face it, if your body is used to consuming 2500 calories (and many people consume way more than that daily), even if you cut the calorie count down to 700 daily, you will still lose weight!!!! It's not worth quitting your diet because you can't follow the strict 500 calorie diet each and every day.
If you have to cheat or "modify" the diet, don't add carbs or fats! Add a protein, fruit, or vegetable. No, you won't be following the strict HCG diet, however, you won't be killing the diet either.
LISTEN to your body and take action IF you need to.
I may get blasted for being so honest in this post, but, at this point, I'm sticking to my guns about documenting what happens to my husband and I day to day as we go through our HCG diet journey.
I truly would appreciate a post below from you letting me know what you think.
Hoping everyone has a wonderful day,
Michelle & Santos
Day Four of the HCG Diet
Well, Day Four, with the exception of noticing some LOUD rumbles from my stomach was pretty uneventful.
Was able to follow the diet, however, I did have to eat a bit differently today than I have been. I was hungry to the point where I ate my bread sticks with green tea at around 8 a.m. Not very much food, however, it kept me going for a little bit.
At 9 a.m., I ate my 3.5 oz of chicken breast. Man oh man, that was so good. And I was OK for another hour.
At 10 a.m., I had about 7 strawberries. Again, WOW, my belly needed that! :)
Then, at 12 noon I ate my cucumber slices with the vinaigrette in the HCG diet book and I was good to go until about 4 p.m. when I started divying my dinner at different time intervals.
For some reason, today, that was how I was able to stick to my diet. Hey, you listen to your body. Everyone is different and everyone has a different way of coping with changing their food habits.
Going from our regular food habits to a strict 500 calorie diet is a big change for our bodies. The body is going to grumble a bit, just listen and make sure you know the difference between habit and hunger.
I'll be back tomorrow,
Michelle

Day Three of the HCG for Weight Loss Diet
It's Day Three of my HCG for weight loss diet and it's been a piece of cake so far. Since the last 2 days were in the "gorge" phase, today is actually the first day of the HCG 500 calorie diet. I thought I'd have such a hard time, but I really, really haven't been hungry. The HCG diet drops are definitely helping with the appetite suppression (and I've tried lots of others that have NOT worked for me).
I took a pic (to the left) of what my lunch consisted of. Santos and I had a shrimp salad which consisted of 3.5 oz of shrimp, about a cup of chopped celery, a chopped apple, a splash of apple cider vinegar, salt/pepper to taste, 1/4 tsp basil, and 1/4 tsp of celery salt. Add the green tea with lemon stevia and my bread stick and that was a very tasty and plenty filling lunch.
Tonight's dinner will be 3.5 oz chicken breast, 2 cups of green salad, a handful of strawberries, and my bread stick.
So far, no headaches and no problems in the bathroom arena. Santos thought he would have a problem with the small portions, but, again, so far, so good.
I'll be back tomorrow with a new recipe and an update on what's going on with our HCG diet!

Day Two of the HCG Diet Drops
Day Two of the HCG diet drops has come and is almost gone. It's 11:30 p.m. and I'm about to wind down for the day.
Day Two has been pretty uneventful, but then, tomorrow (Day Three) is what I consider the official start of this diet my husband and I are embarking on. Tomorrow is when we start on the strict part of the diet, the 500 calorie food plan along with the HCG diet drops.
Being on the 2nd day that we are supposed to "gorge", Santos and I had ham, eggs, toast, and orange juice for breakfast. Nibbled here and there through the afternoon, had a sandwich, and then decided we were going to splurge since it would be the last time for a bit that we could actually go out to eat.
We decided on Red Lobster (high fat, high calorie foods were supposed to eaten today) and pigged out on fried shrimp, bay scallops, white fish, shrimp scampi and Santos also had a lobster tail. Absolutely no room for dessert, although for a late night snack we did have our last piece of angel food cake and a slice of cheese. (I'm gonna miss the cheese, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy)
Oh, and we also went for our daily walk around the neighborhood. We don't just stroll, we actually set out at a decent pace and try to not let ourselves slow down much. It really does feel productive when you are slightly winded and tired when you arrive back home.
So, that's it for our Day Two on the HCG for weight loss plan we are on. Check back tomorrow to see how we do on the first day of the 500 calorie daily diet.
Chow!

Day One of the HCG Diet Drops
Well, Day One of the HCG diet drops finally arrived.
Santos, my husband, and I got up, weighed ourselves and then started taking measurements starting at the neck and working all the way down to our knees. Yes, knees, can you believe that? Me, not thinking, I probably would have stopped at the thigh and not thought about measuring the knees. Goes to show what I know! :)
Then we took a front and side view picture of each other for comparison at the two week and 30 day mark. Those pictures will be coming out at the 30 day finish so we can show the before and after shots. Those should be quite interesting.
Then we headed for the kitchen and took the HCG diet drops for the very first time. Not much as a taste, had a slight smell, underneath my tongue got very warm, but I had no problem keeping the .5cc of the HCG under my tongue for the 2 minutes recommended. We waited the 15 minutes and I cooked us a few eggs and toast. We drank some orange juice and we have started our journey on the HCG diet protocol plan.
Now, since part of the HCG diet protocol plan is to gorge for the first 2 days, we are thinking Pizza Hut for lunch (I'm so gonna miss their Meat Lovers Pan Pizza) and we'll probably go with pork chops with rice and beans for dinner. Santos, being of Latin descent, loves his rice and beans and that's going to be what he misses the most for the next month. Me, oh, it's definitely going to be the bread. I'm a baker and nothing smells up the house so fast and so good as a loaf of fresh bread coming out of the oven. Actually, that's on the list of must eat today, too! Along with some Angel Food Cake for dessert. I told you, I'm a baker, so I better get some of my favorites in today and tomorrow before they are shut off.
I did remind Santos this morning that he needs to tell me day to day if anything goes weird while we are taking the HCG diet drops; headaches, off kilter bowel movements, dizzy spells, crazy cravings, etc. This way, I'll make sure we document what happens with us from day to day, partly for us to remember what we went through and in part to share with anyone who may be either thinking of or already on this diet and wanting to compare notes.
Well, I think that's it for now. I'll be back tomorrow to share what's going on with us on this HCG for weight loss plan we are on.
Cheers,
Michelle & Santos

The HCG For Weight Loss Drops Arrived!
Yes!!!!! My HCG for weight loss drops arrived yesterday, even though it was a Federal Holiday. I had forgotten that they weren't shipped via regular mail, but by package mail.
Included with the two 2 oz. bottles of HCG (remember, my husband and I are BOTH doing this diet at the same time) were the measurement droppers and the "Loser's Manual" which I just finished going through. Whew! Even though I had really done some research on this HCG diet protocol plan, I still learned a few new things going through the HCG Loser's Manual.
However, let me say that my husband and I are READY to do this! Just thinking of going on a diet that is supposed to allow our bodies to use and get rid of our stored fat is really exciting. We aren't supposed to lose any muscle, just the stored fat, and we are so ready to start on this journey.
Reading the Loser's Manual, I see that the HCG diet drops have some awesome commonly reported effects. . .
Besides the losing weight, many see a "reduction in the amount of unhealthy cholesterol, decrease and stabilization of blood sugar levels, the appearance of cellulite is drastically reduced, food cravings go away, increase in energy levels, blood pressure decreases, the body reshapes itself, and there is a general improvement in overall health".
Wow, that's really saying a lot!
So, since my husband had a wonky work shift today, we'll be measuring ourselves all over tomorrow, putting our starting weights on paper, and taking pics for proof. We start taking the HCG drops tomorrow, so keep checking back in because I'll be posting a daily summary of how we feel and what we are going through as we take the HCG diet drops and follow this strict diet.
Wish us luck!
Michelle

New HCG Diet Protocol Recipe - Shrimp Salad with Mint
We get our HCG diet drops tomorrow!!!! Yeah!
I was thinking last night. . . (my best thinking is when I'm sleeping!) :)
I've been going on the assumption that anyone that reached this HCG for weight loss blog knows all about the HCG diet! And that just isn't a good assumption. So sorry to any of you confused as you are reading my ramblings!
Here is a link that goes directly to what the diet is and the strict eating guidelines: HCG Diet Plan
This will give you an idea of why I am very direct about telling you that the recipes on this blog are Dr. Simeon compliant and that by using my recipes, you'll be adding a bit of variety to your diet plan and yet keeping to the guidelines.
OK, I got that out of the way, here's another recipe that I think you might like. Of course, you can substitute the shrimp with chicken, lobster or crab.
Shrimp Salad with Mint
3.5 ounce of cooked shrimp
up to 2 cups of chopped celery
1 apple, chopped
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 packet stevia (or liquid lemon stevia)
2-3 fresh mint leaves, chopped fine
Mix all together and enjoy with melba toast or a grissini stick.
The fresh mint leaves add a totally different flavor to this meal and blend in very well if you happen to be drinking tea with it!
Please drop me a comment below if you like this recipe. Hey, if you have any other meal suggestions that I can share with others, please pass them along.
Thanks,
Michelle

HCG Diet Protocol Compliant Recipe
OK, Jeff has been on his HCG diet drops for 16 days now and told me this morning that he broke the 20 pound mark! Isn't that awesome?
Of course, that makes me even more excited to get my HCG diet drops (and my husbands!) this coming Monday. OMG, excited AND nervous!
I came up with a Dr. Simeons compliant recipe to liven up the meal experience. Now some people may just stick to the very plain basic diet plan, but if you have a few minutes to prepare your food, you really can give your taste buds an extra pop even on a diet!
Here's one I came up with late last night and, yes, it is totally in compliance with the strict diet guidelines. It will be one of the diet meals that my husband and I will be eating once we start our HCG for weight loss plan on Monday.
Hope you enjoy it!
Garlic Chicken with Fresh Spinach
3.5 ounces of chicken breast
salt, lemon pepper to taste
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic, sliced thin
1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves
Cook your seasoned chicken as usual (most of us use or will use a form of Foreman Grill). While cooking the chicken, prepare a frying pan with the olive oil, sliced garlic, and vinegar. Once the garlic is slightly soft, add the spinach leaves and gently toss the leaves in the hot liquid. Cook for approximately 1 minute. Baby spinach leaves cook extremely fast and you don't want mush, you just want a soft leaf with plenty of flavor.
Place the garlic spinach on a plate, top with your chicken breast and enjoy!
A juicy, crunchy apple and your allowed grissini breadstick will round out this diet plan meal wonderfully!
Please place a comment on this page and let me know if you enjoyed this HCG diet protocol recipe as much as I think you will.
Till tomorrow,
Michelle

HCG For Weight Loss
Welcome to HCG for weight loss!
Who doesn't want to lose weight and do it safely, naturally, and quickly?
I recently came across the HCG Diet Protocol when my friend, Jeff, told me he was going on a diet. He'd been in contact with a friend who had dropped some unwanted pounds quickly and safely and she looked great. His interest peaked and he started doing his research. (HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin which is a hormone)
Then Jeff told me about the HCG for weight loss plan and got MY interest going. He ordered the drops from a reputable supplier and couldn't wait to get his HCG shipment. Jeff was so excited that he talked about this HCG weight loss plan constantly and got me excited about it, too. He's been giving me almost daily updates, he's on Day 15 and has lost 17.8 pounds! WOW!
Needless to say, I've ordered the HCG diet protocol drops for myself and my husband and they are supposed to arrive this coming Monday, the 21st of February.
Since doing research on this HCG for weight loss diet, I've read countless testimonials, chatted with others who are on the same diet, and have asked lots of questions in the forums. I've come to the conclusion that this is not just a hyped up fad diet, but something that is sustainable and doable for my husband and I. It's so exciting to be looking forward to the next month in our lives. Hey, change is good and, sometimes, it's just the best thing that can happen to you.
I'll be back tomorrow and place a few recipes here on this blog. I'm all for sharing and if you have any HCG diet protocol recipes to share, please send them so they can be passed on.
Talk tomorrow,
Michelle
